  1. Hi. I ama Ferret owner in Guatemala. I love Ferrets, and have 4. All Fetñrrets that are sold in Guatemala, in Pet shops, are always mistreated, and suffer of hunger and desesases. They are sterylized too. They come from Canada. I would like myself to buy a pair of ferrets that won’t suffer even when they won’t have any littles. I wish a pair of long-haired baby ferrets. Can you send me, but so that they don’t suffer the trip to Guatemala?

  2. Oh Karl … I am so sorry but I’m not a breeder 🙁
If you want to get a ferret from an American ferret breeder, then I would advise that you check out each of the breeders listed and contact them individually!
I’m listing a link to ferret breeders from the American Ferret Association so I hope you can find someone who can help you get a healthy and happy ferret …

Good luck and thank you for being someone who cares about the health of their ferrets!

  3. I am interested in becoming a ferret breeder. What are the steps I take? I’m sure there is licensor to obtain, not to mention an unrelated, intact breeding pair. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  4. Hi Jeremy
I’m afraid that being an Australian, I’m not in a position to give you any guidelines; however, take a look at the American Ferret Association’s page about Breeding …

    https://www.ferret.org/read/ferretBreeding.html

All the reports they have on that page should give you some ideas and *IF* you want to go further, then perhaps you should contact the AFA and ask them for advice and information 🙂
Trust me, having bred ferrets in the past you need to ensure you have a decent lump of money for vet bills because if things do go wrong during the pregnancy or after the birth, the vet bills can be quite high 😮
It is such a shame that there are ferret “factories” in the States, churning out kits like there’s no tomorrow. It’d be great if these large, uncaring breeders could be shut down so that decent breeders could take over but I doubt that will ever happen 🙁
Good luck if you choose to go ahead!

  6. Hi Connie
May I suggest you contact the ferret breeders directly about getting a ferret?!
I’m afraid I can’t do anything about that as I live in Australia and I have only listed the breeders on this page for Americans who want a ferret to contact directly ?
Good luck and I hope you recover from your surgery soon!
    Kindest regards

  7. Hello. Do you have any ferret kits for sale in Charlotte NC? If you do i would love to talk about buying or adopting one. please reply.

  8. Hi Shamila
There is a Facebook page for a breeder in North Carolina …

    https://www.facebook.com/DanishAngoraFerrets/

While Carolina Ferrets has a website …

However would you consider getting a rescue ferret from a shelter instead of buying a kit?

    http://www.ferretguardian.org/about/aboutus.html

My heart goes out to shelter operators as they do their best to look after those ferrets which are handed in but it must be very depressing for them if no one wants to adopt those poor guys! Adopted ferrets are just as gorgeous as other ones so please give that some thought ??

  9. Hi, there! I’m looking into getting a ferret, but can’t find any breeders or shelters near me! Do know any good breeders/shelters in Oregon?

  10. Hi Tasha
I’ve googled your question and can’t find any breeders in or around Arizona to pass on to you ?
Have you thought about getting a ferret from a rescue? You’d be doing a great thing by giving a ferret a wonderful home so I would like you to think about that. Also if this is your first time ferret, then it’d be good to talk to the owner of the rescue to get a ferret which isn’t totally zany or scatty, as it’s always impossible to tell how kits would turn out when you first get one!! ?
I’ve found a couple of rescues for you to consider …

  12. I live in Maryland and i’m looking to own a ferret for the first time, i’m trying to look for a shelter or a breeder, do you think you can help me?

  13. Hello, I live in Reno, Nevada and l the shelters and such near me are closed. I was wondering if you knew of any ferret breeders in or around this area. I’m looking for a new kit to add to my group!

  14. Hi Adia
I can only suggest you call up one of those breeders and speak to them about what you’d like. However I haven’t updated that list for a while so you might find that some of those breeders are no longer in business.
    Good luck!

  15. Hi there do you know of any ferret breeders in Las Vegas or that can ship I am looking to get 2 ferrets and I can’t find any here

  16. Hi Ashley
I’ve googled the question and drew a blank so what I’d suggest is for you to look through the AFA’s page on Ferret Breeders. Contact any business which might be close to where you live and ask them the question you asked me. Keep asking until you get a breeder whom you like and who will ship your babies to you! ❤
Hopefully you’ll get the answers you want! Fingers crossed ?

  17. SCAM!! BEWARE of petlandferrets.com The website is very well done and looks more legit than most legit businesses, BUT this is a total SCAM. We paid $1200 (via Zelle to Ogonnaya Ogudu… first red flag for sure but I was trying to stay open-minded) for four ferrets to be shipped to our Montessori school in FL. On delivery day, the ‘shipper’ called me (with an African accent) to say we would need to send them an additional $1500 (via Zelle to a different email… another red flag) for a temperature-controlled electronic crate (to be refunded upon delivery). UHUH. At this point, I hung my head bc I knew the whole thing was a scam. The audacity to steal $1200 and STILL try to get $1500 more!! Just please DO NOT buy from them, or anyone that sounds like them, regardless of how good their website is or how good they are at responding to emails. They are liars and thieves and I’d like nothing more than to shut these people down. If anyone has any information on petlandferrets please let me know.

  18. Oh Erika – I am so sorry to hear that you lost $1200 to a scammer! It is just unconscionable that those people managed to get so much money out of you ?

If you are happy I would like to post your comment on my front page, just to make sure everyone reads it *if* they are contemplating getting a ferret or ferrets from overseas ?‍♀️

Is there anyone else you can report these people to? The American Ferret Association comes to mind and perhaps other organisations which are involved with animals!

I won’t post your comment until tomorrow (Oz time – it’s now 5:43 PM on Jan 26) so let me know if you don’t want to have your comment on the front page here.

    Cheers
