Omie the ferret...

Hi - my name is Kate and I got my first ferret a couple of months ago and I had no idea what I was in for.

When i got my little girl she was already a couple of months old and was just about to start her training for rabbiting. I'd heard that they bite but didn't realize to what extent so just for people who want one, when you first get your ferret i recommend a pair of gloves cause my hands were cut up all over but while I'm on the subject, they learn very fast and even when she plays she doesn't really hurt.

They are so cheeky and so cute - they even wag their tails when they get excited and my God do they sleep,

I have this hanging bed for Omie and if she is asleep and you wanna play with her, there is no chance in getting her out of there. but I love her and if you are prepared and understand what you need, then they are a great pet.

I have a cage for mine so it's not as though you have to have them running about all the time. Oh oh oh and if you get one put an ice cube in their water, it's so cute they dunk their head in and try to get it out.

So - good luck if you get one as a pet, it's worthwhile.

I think she is about as big as ferrets get although she might be a little fat ... lol ... but she does run around a lot so I'm not sure why. Oh, and I'm slowly teaching her to come to me with the help of treats.

Your ferret is gorgeous! She looks pretty big for a girl, which is great as that means there is more of her to cuddle :D
