I reckon the ferret you're trying to keep out might be a pet which is lost.
Why don't you contact a ferret shelter near to where you live and ask them for advice on how to "trap" it and maybe they could take it away and find a good home for it.
Yes, not everyone loves a ferret but they are great pets and shouldn't be left on their own outside.
