I Think So.

by Kat
(TN)

I'm an adult and I don't have any indoor pets now that my beloved Erin (a small terrier mix) passed away a few months ago.

I have depression and would love to have an animal that needs/wants my attention. I also usually have quite a bit of time on my hands. So, I'm beginning to think a ferret (female) would be a great pet for me.

And they're so darn cute! ;)

The only problem I can see that I would have is completely proofing the house; my other half has quite a bit of.. stuff, but, I think I could handle it.

Your website helped a lot, thanks. :)

Owning a ferret
by: Lisa

Ferrets will give you unconditional love and they will WANT your attention. Best thing to do is read up on them.. They require lots of needs. Basically they live up to 8 years, more if their health lets them. They tend to get this Adrenal disease, it's very common. Here is a website for you to look at about it .. http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/ferrets/a/ferretadrenal.htm
You will become so attached to them. They are addictive. I call them my prozac, my therapy, I have 5 right now, Had 8....I had 3 pass in the last yr. And they take a piece of your heart with them. When looking up fact about them.. Search Ferret Diseases and ferret fun... ferret everything. I owned mine for 4 yrs now and I am still learning.. Maybe try to adopt a ferret before buying. They have been from broken homes,
Well said enough. lol.. good luck and hope to see pics of your new one when you get him/her..
Note.. I prefer boys, to me they are much calmer. But I have a little girl Chloe who is sweet (to me) but will bite someone else, my 4 boys don't bite at all. Again good luck
