Ferret Vets in Florida

[wp_ad_camp_1]

(Ferret Vets in Florida – I’m always happy to add sites which have been recommended by other ferret owners so if you have a good ferret vet who is not listed here, please let me know and I’ll put the details on this page … I reckon it’s great to have a list of vets we know are good so that if our ferrets ever get sick, we’ll feel comfortable in the knowledge that our pets will get the best treatment possible from a vet who knows what he’s doing!)

  1. Hi, Wanted to let you know that I am in Clearwater, FL and happy that I stumbled on to this site. I almost missed a recommended vet office in Clearwater because it is listed under Clermont which is about 2 to 2.5 hrs away from me and wouldn’t be good for an emergency. I am going to contact the vet office to look into changing her vet since this one is so much closer than the one she goes to now. 🙂 Thank you for this site and all the information. I’ve discovered my Lucy cannot hear and although is a barrier for her training we are working through it with love instead of frustration.

  2. Oh Charrisse
I am so sorry that I mistakenly put the Clearwater vet under Clermont I’ve made the necessary correction 🙁
I’m really glad that you spotted the error and managed to contact them for your ferret!
Thanks so much for pointing out the mistake to me – I really appreciate it 🙂
    Cheers

  8. Hi , I am looking for a vet in Bradenton/Sarasota. My ferret stopped eating a few days ago. I know it’s the weekend so I’m not sure what to do? Can you recommend a vet?
    Thank you

  9. Hi Lynne
I live in Australia so am unable to give any recommendations for the area you want but I found this clinic, and hope it will be good for you to take your ferret to …

If your ferret has stopped eating, please make sure it doesn’t get dehydrated. Can you put some electrolytes in its water? Not sure if you can get the electrolytes from a pet store, vet or place like Walmart, but please do get some!
Hope that’s been of help and I hope the vet will be able to help your baby ❤️
Hugs to your little one from its new buddies down under!
    Cheers

  10. I’ve been searching for a routine check up/ emergency vet near me and haven’t had any luck. The closest one on your list is still a bit of a long drive away. I’m in Charlotte County. Could you let me know if I’m over looking any reputable vets near me.

  11. I will check some time today, Kimberly, and will let you know if I can find a suitable vet close to you!
    Cheers

  12. Hi Kimberly
I googled ferret vets in Charlotte County and there are quite a few in Port Charlotte, which I will list and also add to my page on Florida vets. Is that too far for you to drive?

  15. My ferret fell onto the floor from my body and broke her elbow. She had a point on for a full day and then took it off. I’m waiting for her doctor appointment in a week and the estimated cost for surgery was $3,000….. this is a joke right? They said citing the leg off would be cheaper or if it heals the wrong way she will have a limp. But 3k to fix her perfectly fine? Is there another ferret doctor in Florida that’s is good with surgery on ferrets. She’s only 4 months old?

  16. Oh Jada! So sorry to hear about your poor little baby ?
Unfortunately I personally have no idea which ferret doctor is good with surgery but if you can, I’d suggest you go to a vet which has been highly recommended by other ferret owners. There are a few listed there and one vet in Rockledge called Beth Ferris who’s been described by a ferret owner as awesome! Is Rockledge close to where you live?

If you’re not close to Rockledge then please check the other pages and see if you can find a recommended vet nearby!
My first ferret, Mash, fell and hurt her shoulder but the vet decided not to treat it and let it heal by itself. She was fine but she couldn’t run in a straight line afterwards ?‍♀️ ?
Hugs to your poor little girl – I hope she gets better soon ❤
    Good luck!
    Cheers
