Advice

Hello
My name is Michael and i am 14 almost 15, and am looking into buying a baby ferret. I have read through ALL of your website, which has been fantastic help by the way, and am prepared to look after, watch out for, care for, and love a ferret, but before I buy one for my birthday, which is coming up soon, I was wondering if there is anything I should know that isn't on the website?

I have a dog and have read the page on that and although my dog is one of the nicest and affectionate dogs you will ever meet, I still have concerns that my dog and the ferret will not get on. I will introduce them correctly and carefully, but I wanted to know if you had any tips?

My email is michael356god_AT_hotmail_DOT_co_DOT_uk

Any help would be MUCH appeciated :) Thank you :)

Hi Michael - I hope you get your ferret, they are very enjoyable creatures and make fine pets if you take good care of them.

Reference your dog. I hope your dog gets along well with your ferret. Don't push the introduction each animal is different. If your dog or your ferret makes it clear the other one is not going to be tolerated. Don't panic. Think about how you can keep dog and ferret apart so neither one is hurt or upset. It might be as easy as putting the dog outside when the ferret is playing out of his/her cage.

Think things through (which it seems you're doing) and I'm sure you can figure out how to taken care of both without causing hassles.

Good Luck and Have fun!
